How AG Resident Directorship works

From enquiry to appointed director, then a calm year of compliance.

Here is exactly what happens, who does what, and how long each step takes. Software handles the routine; people handle the decisions that carry legal weight.

The process, step by step

  1. You · about 10 minutes

    Tell us about your company

Complete the onboarding form: your company (existing Australian Pty Ltd or one you are about to register), its ownership, what it will do in Australia, when you need your resident director, and the package you want. If it is a branch of an overseas company rather than a Pty Ltd, the first question routes you to a local agent conversation instead. The form tells you straight away if your structure is one this service fits, and flags owners who need enhanced checks. If it needs a closer look, for example a trust structure or a higher-risk sector, we say so plainly instead of leaving you waiting.

  2. Us · within one business day

Fixed quote, engagement letter and director deed

We reply with a fixed quote generated from the same catalogue as our pricing page, plus the engagement letter and director deed. You sign once, online. The deed sets out what your director will do, what information they need to see, and how the company indemnifies and insures them.

  3. You and us · screening within one business day

    Identity, ownership and sanctions checks

One checklist asks for exactly what we need: identity for each beneficial owner and officeholder, your constitution, the ACN or registration details, and your registered office arrangement. Each upload is checked as it arrives. We screen the company and its owners for sanctions and politically exposed persons and record the outcome. If something is missing, you get one precise message listing only the outstanding items.

  4. Us · within five business days of completed KYC

    Director consented and appointed

Your director confirms their Director ID and D&O cover, sign a written consent to act, and are appointed by resolution. We prepare and lodge the ASIC notification of the appointment, well inside the 28-day legal limit. Then your portal opens: who your director is, your compliance calendar and how to reach us.

  5. Us · all year

Governance on autopilot, judgement by people

Your compliance calendar tracks the ASIC annual review, the solvency resolution, change notifications and the tax lodgement windows that affect director liability. Well before your review date the paperwork is prepared and presented for signature. Changes such as a new address or share issue are requested in the portal and lodged within two business days. If you opted in to email reminders, you get them; if not, everything waits quietly in the portal.

  6. Us · every day from launch, in Resident Director + Compliance and above

    Daily automated public-record checks

From launch, our systems check your company's public records every day: ASIC, insolvency and court notices, and sanctions lists. This is not a solvency assessment; your accounts remain your team's job. If a record needs attention, a person reviews it the same day. Because a risk notice is the one message you did not ask for, it is approved by our CEO before it is sent, and it arrives clear, private and with a remediation checklist. Early warning is the whole point: most problems are cheap to fix when they are caught in the first week.

  7. You decide · at renewal

    Renew, upgrade or leave cleanly

Renewal is effortless, and the price was shown to you on day one. There is no lock-in beyond your annual term: if you want to appoint your own Australian director, nominate them in the portal before renewal. We give notice, help you appoint the replacement, lodge the change and send your records pack. Directors can resign at any time under s203A, and where solvency or governance requires it, our director may resign before a replacement is found; the director deed sets out the notice and steps.
